Sobitha Yuhendran
For two decades I sat in healthcare executive rooms making decisions about systems, budgets and people. I earned well, I invested carefully, and I built a real estate portfolio of my own.
Then my bank declined me on my third investment property. Strong income, strong credit, real assets, and still a no. That moment is exactly why Blackwood exists.

Why I left healthcare
Twenty years of executive work taught me how to read complex files, manage risk and advocate for people who don't have the room's attention. What it stopped giving me was the feeling that I was changing an individual life.
Mortgage brokering gave that back. Every approval is a family in a home, an investor closing on a property, a renewal that quietly saves someone thousands of dollars a year.
I don't sell rates. I structure the file, choose the right lender out of 60+ partners, and tell you the truth about what your numbers can carry.
I've been declined too
On my third investment property, my own bank said no. Not because the deal was weak, but because a single institution has one rulebook and my file didn't fit inside it.
A broker with the right lender would have closed it in weeks. That is the gap I now stand in for my clients, self-employed income, rental portfolios, newcomers, bruised credit, and buyers the big banks quietly wave off.
As an investor myself, I read your numbers the way you do: cash flow, exit, and the next property after this one.

Straight answers
If a deal doesn't work, I'll tell you why and what to fix, not string you along to an application fee.
No cost to you
On standard residential files the lender pays me, so my advice costs you nothing.
Investor's lens
I own property. I model your purchase against the portfolio you are actually trying to build.
Discretion
Your financials stay between us, handled with the rigour of two decades in regulated environments.
